Even more laughter is on its way as four top tier comedians are added to the already stacked festive line-up for the Best Christmas Comedy Show On Earth. Join in Christmas spirit (and silliness) on Friday 28 November at Skycity Theatre, hosted by the incomparable Chris Parker.
Joining the previously announced line-up of Ray O’Leary, James Mustapic, Courtney Dawson, Henry Yan and Lily Castrophe is:
Paul Williams. Best known as the assistant on Taskmaster NZ, Paul has been nominated for the Billy T Award, starred in TVNZ’s Kid Sister, hosted a popular basketball podcast, is a talented musician and has taken his unique mix of comedy and music to stages around the world, from Edinburgh to Melbourne.
Brynley Stent. A 2021 Billy T Award winner and familiar face from Taskmaster NZ, Celebrity Treasure Island, Golden Boy, and Shortland Street. Brynley is the ultimate wild card. Whether it’s stand-up, sketch, impressions, or something completely unexpected – we can’t tell you what she’s got planned, but we can guarantee it’ll be brilliant.
Janaye Henry. A comedian, writer, actor and theatremaker, and self-described “clown by nature, comedian by nurture”. 2023 Billy T nominee, Janaye has appeared in Time Bandits, Far North, Taskmaster NZ, Celebrity Treasure Island, and My Favourite Dead Person. Effortlessly funny with non-stop laughs from start to finish, you do not want to miss Janaye in action.
Alan McElroy. Rounding out the night of laughter and Christmas cheer, Alan is an award-winning Auckland based Irish comedian, MC, and actor. Winner of Best MC at the 2024 NZ Comedy Awards, Alan brings high energy, quick wit, and a healthy dose of festive chaos to the stage.
Beyond the festive fun Best Christmas Comedy Show On Earth is about giving back. The special is being held as a fundraiser, with all proceeds going to support the New Zealand Comedy Trust. Each ticket purchased helps support the artist development work they do alongside the Comedy Festival, to create career pathways for NZ comedians.
