Interview: Jaiyah Saelua and the Rainbow Games

Jaiyah Saelua is a trailblazing soccer player from American Samoa, best known for being the first fa’afafine (transgender) athlete to compete in a FIFA World Cup qualifier. Her story has been immortalised in the recent movie Next Goal Wins.

Jaiyah is also an ambassador for the inaugural Rainbow Games which begin in Auckland New Zealand on the 4th April 2024.
