Movie Review: Force of Nature (The Dry 2)

Force of Nature is a follow up to the film The Dry but with a plot unconnected to that movie, it’s not exactly a sequel. In this one, Aaron Falk investigates the disappearance of a whistleblower in the mountain ranges north of Melbourne, Australia.

Press play to watch the review:

Eric Bana holds this film together well with a mixture of stoicism and restrained emotion. His cast mates are very capable and believable and manage the tensions and red herrings in the plot very well.

Pacing is excellent and the intrigue in the movie means there is a great sense of tension while watching it. While the criminal investigation is fascinating to watch, the discovery of what really happened in the bush is a little too conveniently solved.

All up this is a well shot, well written, and very well acted drama and I recommend you watch it, but it doesn’t quite have the same emotional intensity of its predecessor.

So how did I score it?

Acting  8 /10

Story/Script 7 /10

Cinematography    8 /10

Set/Costumes 7 /10

Entertainment value 8 /10

That gives Force of Nature an average score of   7.6 / 10
