Interview: Why is comedian Liv McKenzie a crybaby?

Liv McKenzie is a rising star in the New Zealand comedy scene who has been captivating audiences with her razor-sharp wit and effortless charm. A self-confessed ‘comedy nerd,’ Liv discovered her passion for comedy at an early age, finding inspiration in the quirks and idiosyncrasies of everyday life. Her comedic style is marked by its relatability, as she fearlessly delves into topics ranging from relationships and family dynamics to the absurdities of modern life. Her performances are characterised by their energy and spontaneity, keeping audiences on the edge of their seats and roaring with laughter from start to finish.

In the 2024 New Zealand International Comedy Festival, Liv will be bringing her show Crybaby to the stage. In this interview with Andrew Whiteside, she explains her emotional nature, and one of the worst times she bombed on stage.
