In My Blood It Runs is a documentary by Australian filmmaker Maya Newell. It tells the story of a young aborigine boy called Dujuan who lives in the Northern Territories of Australia. He’s a child healer, a hunter and speaks three languages – yet, he is failing in school and is under scrutiny from welfare agencies and the police.
In this interview with Andrew Whiteside, Newell talks about why the film is so important and how it changed her.
