Made in Italy stars Liam Neeson and his real life son. It’s a drama with comedic bits – is it a must see film ?
Plot
An estranged father and son need to fix up a gorgeous but dilapidated house in Italy after the son goes through a bad divorce. The question becomes, can they repair the house and their relationship?
Acting
The ensemble cast never quite gels for me although each of the performers is talented. Minor characters are a little bit stereotypic.
7 out of 10 for acting.
Plot/Script
A sweet kind of story, but the script is riddled with cliches and obvious plot points and the outcome becomes a little inevitable.
6 out of 10 for story
Cinematography
Nicely filmed but nothing out of the ordinary
7 out of 10 for cinematography
Set/Costumes
The main sets and outdoor locations obviously filmed in Italy and look lovely.
7 out of 10 for sets and costumes .
Entertainment
There are moments of intense emotion but I never really connected to the characters – its a cute film, but not a must see.
6 out of 10 for entertainment value
Average
Adding all those scores means Made in Italy gets an average of 6.6 out of ten.
