After a stunning event at the Botanic Gardens in January, NZ Opera returns with a free Valentine’s Day Opera in the Park concert at the Auckland Domain Band Rotunda.
Bring someone special, sit back, and let opera’s most swoon-worthy love songs and arias set the mood for an unforgettably romantic evening
Part of Auckland Council’s Music in Parks, this is your chance to hear popular opera favourites performed live by Aotearoa’s finest rising stars. Pack a picnic, and enjoy exquisite classical voices in the Tāmaki Makaurau summer twilight.

RED! Preview:” See inside the studio
A free, one-off sneak preview of NZ Opera’s RED! – the charming Opera in Schools production touring across Aotearoa. Especially created for primary-aged tamariki, RED! is a lively, interactive retelling of Little Red Riding Hood with a modern twist, written by New Zealand composer Lucy Mulgan, directed by Jacqueline Coats and music direction from Brent Stewart (The Monster in the Maze).
The family-friendly production features professional opera singers Michaela Cadwgan as Red, Ben Knight as Wolfie and Lemause’afa Sio Lolesio as Granny.
