The Invisible Man opens this week in America and New Zealand – I’ve already seen it… but…. did I like it? Watch my review below:

Here is the script for the video if you don’t want to watch:

Elisabeth Moss stars as Cecilia, a woman abused by her ingenious but violent and control freak husband – she manages to escape from him, and he commits suicide – then weird things start to happen – did he really die?

Acting

Elisabeth Moss is just superb in this film, particularly when she is fighting for her life. Everyone else in the cast deliver really well. 9 out of 10 for acting.

Plot/Script

The thrills start straight away, its got unexpected twists that will shock you and despite a couple of plot holes, the story works brilliantly.  7.5  out of 10

Cinematography

Great use of point of view angles at times and  the film has a moody look that compliments the story. 8 out of 10 for cinematography.

Set/Costumes

Sets and costumes very well co-ordinated to match each characters psychological state. 8 out of 10.

Entertainment value

This film is scary, edgy, and keeps you in a state of anxiety throughout – it’s just superb.  9 out of 10 for entertainment value.

Average

Averaging all those scores means The Invisible man gets an 8.3 out of 10.   overall

So to answer my question at the top of this story – Did I like it? Well, to quote an Apple saying:

I ducking love it!!!

It was incredible. Despite those little plot holes, it really works. It kept me on anxiety level right the way through it and that’s in a good way. I cannot recommend this film highly enough. Go and see it. Get Scared.
